Ionia Sentinel Standard, 24 Dec 1971

Mrs. Neva Mae Young, 76, longtime resident of Muir, died Thursday at Ionia 
County Memorial hospital.

Born in Berlin township, October 17, 1895, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. 
William Woodard.  She was married to Lewis Young, who died in 1967.

She was a member of Muir Presbyterian church and its Women’s organization.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Earl Nobis of route 1, Muir, and Mrs. Jean 
Carpenter of Lansing; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; two sisters, 
Mrs. Myrtle Emery of Williamston and Mrs. Donna Pepper of Pinckney.

Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Estep funeral home north of Muir.  
Rev. Richard Strait of Muir Presbyterian church will officiate and interment 
will be at Saranac cemetery.  A memorial has been established for Muir 
Presbyterian church.
