He Died at Nome city, Alaska, Oct. 21, 1900 S.P. Youngs received the sad news Monday of the death of his youngest brother, Clark, who died of pneumonia at Nome City, Alaska, on October 21, after an illness of only five days. Deceased was a single man 35 years of age and for a number of years had resided at Marquette. He went to Nome City last spring as the representative and active manager of a syndicate of Marquette capitalists. He took with him several thousand dollars worth of powerful pumping machinery, expecting to do a large business in pumping for miners owning shore claims. He had decided to sail for the states in the next steamer, leaving his outfit in the care of trusted employees, and on October 16, while engaged in taking down his tent, was stricken with the dread disease which almost invariably proves fatal in that climate. He was given the best of care in the hospital and attended by skilled physicians, but all to no avail. His death is a terrible shock to his brothers and to his aged parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Young, of Bushnell, who have the heartfelt sympathy of their many friends. He was a young man of exemplary life, a whole souled, generous and warm in his friendships. As a business man he was greatly talented, making a success of every venture. He had scores of warm friends in Marquette who deeply mourn his loss.
