YOUNGS Died Saturday July 3, 2021 at Belding - age 88. Born July 5, 1932 at St. Johns, MI the son of Ralph & Glenna (Mead) Youngs. Graduated Belding High School with class of 1950. Served in U.S. Army during Korean War. Worked for Luvan Corporation in Belding several years. Later retired from Vouges. Will loved sports, served as referee for 39 years, & worked with Bud Mahar for 40 years announcing the Belding Redskins sports Teams. Will's usual attire was Orange & Black. He with others started the little league program in Belding that continues today. Member of Belding VFW & American Legion, served as City Council member & as Mayor. Past member of Ionia-Belding Masonic Lodge & Belding Lyons Club, serving in all the offices-& starting the annual 5K Labor Day Run. Married August 30, 1952 in Orleans to Joan (First). Survived by his wife, Joan, their children, Gary (Tammy) Youngs, Gail (Steve) Brechting all of Belding, Robert (Karen) Youngs of Crystal; grandchildren Mark (Amber) Youngs, Mandy (Christopher)German, Kelli French, Kyle Brechting, Cassie (Keegan) Rice, Katie (Brett) Sanford, Kara Youngs, 15 great-grandchildren & siblings, Donald (Betty) Youngs of S.Carolina; Sandra (Merle) Carr of Calif. Preceded in death by his parents. Memorial service Friday at 11 AM July 9, 2021 at Belding United Methodist Church with Pastor Donna Sperry officiating. Visitation Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home. Interment at River-Ridge Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Belding High School athletic programs, envelopes available at funeral home & at the church.
