Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 4 Aug 1958

August H. F. Zander, 72, died Sunday afternoon in Belding after a long 
illness.  He was born October 28, 1885 in Lake Odessa township, the son of Mr. 
and Mrs. John C. F. Zander.

Surviving are his wife, Gertrude, six daughters, Mrs. Carl Morrison of Ionia, 
Mrs. Laura Ruehs of Ionia, Mrs. John Cockerell of Bath, Mrs. Donald Miller of 
Orleans, Mrs. David Lutjan of New Mexico and Mrs. Gertrude Balderson of Ionia; 
three sons, Sylvester of Eagle, Lawrence of Caro, and Robert, stationed with 
the U. S. Navy in Calif.; 14 grandchildren, and two brothers, Otto of Ionia and 
Frank of Muir.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Myers funeral home, 
followed by a service at 11 a.m. in the St. John Lutheran church.  The Rev. 
Theodore Timler will officiate.  Interment is to be at Oakhill cemetery.
