Gertrude R. Zander, 79, 641 Cyrus, Ionia died Friday in Ionia Manor.  She was 
born June 1, 1900 in Clare County, the daughter of Benjamin and Charity Zander, 
and has lived in the Ionia area for 61 years.  She was married to August H. F. 
Zander in 1919.  He preceded her in death in 1958.

She is survived by six daughters, Agnes May Morrison and Gertrude Sheldon, both 
of Ionia, Doris M. Campbell and Dora Miller, both of East Lansing, Laura 
Shulthis of Lansing and Cynthia Lugan of Colorado Springs; three sons, Eugene 
of Lyons, Lawrence of Caro and Robert of Milwaukee; two sisters, Mary Gomez of 
Detroit and Olive Johnson of Mecosta; 19 grandchildren and 22 great-
grandchildren.  Five brothers preceded her in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Lyons Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul 
Carmichael officiating.  Burial will be at the Oakhill Cemetery in Ionia.  
Friends may call at Hall Memorial Chapel until noon Tuesday.
