CHARLES ZANDER
Charles Zander, age 77 of Ionia passed away Jan. 14, 2016, in Lowell. He was 
born May 12, 1938 in Ionia, the son of LaVerne and Ardis (Humphrey) Zander.

Charles was a member of the Ionia Moose Lodge, VFW in Sheridan and Saranac 
American legion.

Charles is survived by his wwife Sharon Zander of New York; daughters, Kelly 
(Tom) Nolting of Arkansas, Kim Zander of Arkansas and Katie (Loren) Wright of 
Arkansas; step-children, Bill Porter of Rockford, Son (Dawn) Porter of Fenwick, 
Penny Anderson of New York and Laura (Dale) Cox of Woodland; brother, Bill 
Zander of Palo, Mike (Judy) Zander of Nashwille and Richard Zander of 
California; sisters, Sonja Thorn of Eagel, Tammy (Gary) Wernette of Sheridan and 
Cindy (Bill) Stump of Ionia; six grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; two 
great-grandchildren; and his two dogs, Sassy and Sophie.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his son John Zander.

A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, Jan. 23, at Ionia Moose Lodge 
from 1-3PM with Military honors at 1 PM. Arrangements by Lake Funeral Home in 
Ionia. Memorial contributions may be made to Ionia Moose Lodge. Online
