Gerald E. Zander, age 56, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2003. He was born 
on August 17, 1947 in Ionia, the son of Edward and Margaret (Buckston) Zander. 

Gerald served in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Lowrey during the 
Vietnam War. He was an avid Harley Davidson enthusiast and collector as well 
as an artist enjoying airbrushing and painting. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward. Surviving are his wife of 33 
years, Joanne; mother, Margaret Zander; sister, Rosemary Northrup; brothers, 
William " Bill" Zander, Mike Zander and Steve (Monica) Zander, all of Ionia; 
several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral Services will be conducted by Rev. Kenneth Harger, Pastor of Shiloh 
Community Church, at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 23, 2003 at the Schrauben-
Lehman Funeral Home, Cook Chapel, 220 Rich St., Ionia. Private Family 
Committal Services will be held in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Ionia. In lieu of 
flowers, contributions may be made to the family in Gerald's name.
