Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard
Mrs. Mary Alice Zander, 26, died Sunday afternoon at 4 0’clock at the receiving 
hospital in Detroit, following an illness of pneumonia of several days.  She was 
taken to the hospital Saturday afternoon.

She was born in Lyons township August 26, 1908, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. 
William Clark.  She attended a rural school in Lyons township and later the 
Ionia high school.  She was married in 1926 to Herman Zander, of Ionia.  For the 
past two years she has been employed at the J. L. Hudson store in Detroit.

Surviving besides her husband are one daughter, Betty, eight years old; her 
parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Clark, East Washington street; three brothers 
Lyle, of Lansing; Frederick and Richard, of Ionia; one sister, Mrs. Grace Ward 
of Grand Rapids, and one grandfather.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1 o’clock from the Myers 
funeral home with Rev. Paul L. Stewart officiating.  Interment will be at Balcom 
cemetery.
