He was born July 17, 1913, in McKeesport, Pa., the son of Laslo and Mary Horvath Zayler. During his working years, he started Jack’s Trading Post, now Don’s Carpetland, Greenville, and later build many homes in the Belding and Greenville areas. He married Fannie Larsen Feb. 7, 1957. She survives along with his children, Robert and Wanda Zayler of Stanton, Roger “Bud” and Carol Zayler of Greenville; six grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Irene Scerback of Boone and Margaret Watkins of Livonia. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Joseph; one son, Harold; and one stepson, Roger Larsen, in 1982. Funeral services are 1 p.m. Tuesday at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding, with Pastor Ken Harger officiating. Interment is in East Montcalm Cemetery, Greenville. Visitation is 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Alvah N. Belding Library.
