Rod A. Zeagler, aged 84, of Ionia passed away February 3, 2005.  He was born 
January 10, 1921 in Lecompte, Louisiana the son of Allen G. and Mary P. 
(Bailey) Zeagler.  He married Shirley Waters August 10, 1945 in Virginia.  He 
was a Sergeant in the Marine Corps serving during WW II.  He was a member of 
the West Berlin Wesleyan Church.  He was a past member of the Gideons.  He 
worked as a plant manager for Michigan Bell for 23 years until retiring in 1981.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Shirley Zeagler of Ionia; 
children Donald and Susie Zeagler of Grand Rapids, Carl and Susan Zeagler of 
Grandville, Nora and Paul Carr of Lansing; grandchildren Andrew Zeagler, 
Lindsey Zeagler, Valerie Carr, and Amy Carr; one sister Meldaize Gregory of 
Louisiana and 2 nieces.

Funeral services will be on Monday at 11 a.m. at the West Berlin Wesleyan 
Church with Rev. Mark Lipscomb officiating.  Interment will be in Chapel Hill 
Memorial Gardens in Grand Rapids on Friday February 11, 2005 at 11 a.m.  
Visitation will be on Sunday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at 
the Lake Funeral Home in Ionia.  Anyone wishing may make memorial contributions 
to Ebenezer Center West Berlin Wesleyan church or Gideons International.
