She was born May 8, 1876, at Petersburg, the daughter of Andrew and Mary Besemer. They lived in Howard City for a time where her parents operated an orphanage in their home. They moved to Belding where she lived most of her life until a few years ago when she moved to Alma. She was a former member of the Belding Free Methodist church, transferring her membership to the Alma church when she moved there. Services will be held at the Fitzjohn Funeral home in Belding at 2 pm Saturday. The rev. William Erickson of Belding will officiate. Interment will be in the family lot in a Howard City cemetery. Surviving are a brother Guy of California; a half-sister, Miriam, a tech in Alma; two foster brothers, Kenneth Clifford of Grand Rapids and Kenneth Dravenstradt of Fremont; and a foster sister, Mrs. Elmer Summer of Portland.
