  Excerpt from Grand Rapids Obituary

         CARL ZERFAS

Died Sunday December 10, 2023-age 97 at Grand Rapids,MI.
Born November 4, 1936 in Portland,MI son of Anthony and Gertrude (Rohloff) 
Zerfas.
Graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1954.
Received his Associate's degree from Grand Rapids Junior College in 1957, also 
attended Aquinas College.
Carl served in the US National Guard for 6 years.
June 20, 1959 Carl married Ann Marie Cook.
Together they had 4 children.
Carl was a color chemist & worked at Leon Plastics for 35 years, also some time 
at American Seating.
At church, Carl was a life long Usher as well as an active member of the Knights 
of Columbus Council 389.
Preceded in death by his parents; Gertrude & Anthony Zerfas;; his wife Ann 
Marie; siblings Frances(John) Pitsch, Angela (Merlin) Steffes, Geraldine 
(Robert) Tyczynski, Gabriella (Edward) Lenhart.
Survived by his children;Deborah (Toshio) Asa, Sherri Stalzer, Janette 
Eliaszewicz, & Patrick Zerfas; brother-in-law Gerald Cook, grandchildren 
Alexandria & Anastasia.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 15, 2002 at St.Jude Catholic 
Church. The family will receive quests one hour prior to the 10 AM service.
Visitation will be Thursday December 14, 2023 from 4 PM to 7 PM.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Knights of Columbus or the 
charity of your choise.
