Harvey L. Zimmer, 62, of 707 E. Bridge St., Portland, died Dec. 15 at his 
residence.  Born Nov. 14, 1921, in Chicago, he was the son of Tirl and Ruth 
Ballard Zimmer.  He was a retired insurance agent and as a veteran of Army 
service during World War II.

Surviving are his wife, Rachel Barnard Zimmer; four sons, Harvey II of Oleto, 
Texas; James of Olathe, Ark.; John of Des Moines, Iowa; and Keith of Grand 
Rapids; one daughter, Joy Cadwell of Grand Rapids; 11 grandchildren; and one 
sister, Helen Kane of Skokie, Ill.

Funeral services will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. from the Portland United Methodist 
Church, the Rev. Dow Chamberlain officiating.  Burial will be in Portland 
Cemetery.  The family will be at the Neller Funeral Home Friday from 7 to 9 
p.m. and Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
