Wave, Wed. Jan. 4, 1984 LYONS- Anna Zimmer, 101, the oldest living resident of Lyons, died Dec. 27, in Ionia Manor after a long illness. Born July 24, 1882, in Riley Township in Clinton County, she was the daughter of Philip and Theresa Gaedert, she attended rural school in Clinton County. She was married to Lawrence Zimmer, who preceded her in death in 1937. For many years she worked as a midwife in the Pewamo-Westphalia area and lived most of her life in the Lyons-Portland area. A member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pewamo, she was also a Gold Star Mother. She is survived by six daughters, Bernita Dutcher of Portland, Marian Gladding of Lyons, Josetta Dutcher of Gaylord, Thelma Pranger of Lake Odessa, Velma Rogers of Gladwin and Catherine Zimmerman of Muir; 17 grandchildren; two brothers, Henry T. of Portland and John Gaedert of Hastings; three son and one daughter preceded her in death. Funeral mas was Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, Pewamo. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery, Westphalia. A Bible prayer service was held Thursday at 8 a.m. at Hull Memorial Chapel in Muir, which has made the arrangements.
