Joyce Elenor Wheaton-Schaefer-Zukowski, 71, went to be with her Lord on March 
3, 2014, while living in Tennessee.  Joyce was born Dec. 3, 1942, and lived 
many years in the Lyons-Muir area before moving to Vermont, and marrying Fred 
Zukowski.  Together they operated the Royal Motel and a Subway.  He preceded 
her in death.

She is survived by her children, Annette Schaefer of Tennessee, Daryl Schaefer 
of Saranac, Mary Jo Listerman, Beth Schaefer (Bruce Silvernail) and Richard 
Schaefer II, all of Muir; granddaughters Tiffany Carten, Mara Schaefer, Emily 
and Ashley Listerman; and great grandchildren Lucas Spinella and Nicole Carten.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Muir First Christian Church Annex on 
at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 15, with Pastor Gregg Gladding officiating.
