Additional Comments:
Prior to moving to Portland, Michigan in 1942, Valmer Fremont Johnson and his
wife Isabel (McCrory) Johnson owned Interstate trucking company in Chicago,
Illinois. They employed ninety drivers (including Vern Dornan), 107 trailers and
43 semi's. The family sold the company in 1942 and moved to Portland, Michigan
where they established Portland Motor Sales.
