The body arrived in Portland on the noon train today, and the funeral services will be held at the Congregational church Friday afternoon at two o’clock. Mr. Manning had made Portland his home nearly all his lifetime, until 20 years ago. He was an expert stone mason by trade, his labor having entered into the erection of many of Portland’s buildings. For the past five years the family had been living at Pontiac. Besides the widow, who accompanied the body to Portland, he is survived by two daughters and one son, Mrs. Bert McFadden and Burt Manning, of Lansing. The other daughter was formerly Mrs. Joseph Telepa, and now resides at Pontiac. One brother, Charles, of Fowler, also survives.
