She was born September 15, 1896 in Hudsonville, the daughter of Gilbert and Lillian Hanson, and married Gottlieb Roth February 17, 1912 in Clarksville. He preceded her in death in 1968. She was a member of the Hope Church of the Brethren, the South Boston Grange, the Clarksville Eastern Stars, and the Jolly Dozen. Survivors include one son, Clare, of Lake Odessa; four daughters, Agnes Howard of Clarksville, Jean Hazel of Lake Odessa, and Patricia Light and Doris Behensky of Lansing. Also surviving are a daughter-in-law, Lorraine Roth of Lake Odessa; 18 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren. Two sons, Donald and Darwin, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. from the Hope Church of the Brethren in Freeport, with the Rev. James Kensey officiating. Burial will be in the Clarksville Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established to the cancer fund or the Hope Church of the Brethren.
