A Former Supervisor. Leaves Widow and Two Sons. All the township and many of the county knew John Seybold. He was a man of strong convictions with a strong personality.He served three years as supervisor of the township and was never afraid to take a stand for what he believed to be the best thing for the interests of the people whom he served. For several months Mr.Seybold has been in failing health and realized that his time on earth was short. He how ever, was able to keep his energy until almost the last, when the dropsical condition reached the heart he simply stopped breathing and was gone, no struggle and no acute pain. He leaves a faithful wife and two sons, Melbourne of Detroit and Herbert living in Odessa township. OBITUARY John Seybold was born December 11th, 1855, in Eaton county, Michigan. When but three years of age he moved with his parents to Odessa township, where he lived until his death,July 29th, 1923, having spent 67 years, 7 months and 18 days in building a character and reputation above reproach. He was united in marriage march 27th, 1882, to Adah Knapp of Berlin, and to this union was born two sons, Melbourne and Herbert, who, with the wife, survive him. He also leaves to mourn his loss four grand children, one brother, William Seybold, of Grand Rapids and two sisters,Mrs.Mary Hinds of Ionia and Mrs.Kate Henderson of Odessa, many nieces and nephews, as well as a host of friends, who knowing him could but respect and love him. He served his community for three terms as supervisor, thereby earning the respect and confidence of all who came to him. Burial was in Lake Side cemetery.
