This land was as follows: All the north fractional half of the north east fractional quarter of Section 6, Township 15, North of Range 3 West, containing 83 and 96/100 acres of land, more or less. LIBER 36, Pg 268: Jason and Mary BOWEN sold land to Angus WALKER on 6 Feburary, 1882. This land was situated in the township of Denver, Isabella County and was as follows: All the north west quarter of the north east quarter of Section 6 in township 15, North of Range 3 west, containing 42 acres of land, more or less. LIBER 42, Pg 597: Jason BOWEN purchase land (Quit Claim deed) dated 18 January, 1887 from Cornelius BENNETT of Mt. Pleasant. Land described as follows: The north east quarter, 1/4 of the north east quarter, Section 6 in Township 15, North of Range 3 West, containing 40 acres of land, more or less. LIBER 49, Pg 92: Jason and Mary BOWEN sold land 15th May 1888 to the FRACTIONAL SCHOOL DISTRICT No 1, to be used for school building and grounds, described as follows: Situated and being in the township of Denver, County of Isabella, State of Michigan, a parcel of land cornering at the north east cornor of section 6, township of Denver, running west 12 rods, then south 13 rods, then eat 12 rods, then north to place of beginning, containing 156 rods of land on section 6, township 15, north Range 3 West. (NOTE: In 1895 an article run in the Isabella County Enterprise refers to this as the "BOWEN SCHOOL HOUSE.") (Note: This family farm of Jason and Mary Bowen was left to their youngest son Peter and his family as they provided the care for the two parents in their later years. Peter sold the farm sometime around 1922 when he moved his family to Oregon.
