Gurneth B. Allis, age 88 of Mt. Pleasant, passed away January 3l, 1999,
in Ocala, Fla.  She was born the daughter of Robert and Gladys (Wilson)
Grant on December 18, 1910 in St. Thomas, Canada.  She married Walter J.
Allis on April 6, 1935 in Flint, and he predeceased her on February 26,
1988.
     Mrs. Allis is survived by a son Dr. Harry (Sue) Allis of East
Lansing, a daughter-in-law Jeanatte Allis of Otisville, a broher Bernard
Grant of Gaylord; and a sister Alice Reimann of M. Pleasant, 8
grandchildren and 16 greatgrandchildren.
     Funeral services took place on January 9,1999 at ll:00 a.m. with
Mr. Peter Mousseau and Mr. Andy Oding officiating.  Burial was in the
Cherry Grove Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Michigan Heart
Association.  Arrangements by the Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home, Inc.,
of Clare.
