The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Friday, September 20, 1940

Funeral services for John P. Carten, 67, were held Friday morning at 8 a.m. at 
the Bradley funeral home and at 9 a.m. from the SS. Peter and Paul church.  
Rev. Fr. John S. Fons officiated and interment was held at Mt. Olivet cemetery.

Bearers were all nephews, Joseph Wacha of Orleans, Hugh Wacha of Orleans, Dr. 
Krupp and Frank Krupp of Grand Rapids, Clarence Persha of Sturgis, and Patrick 
Cavanaugh of Carson City.
