Gerald was born April 18, 1925, in Farwell to Roy and Leora Coffell. He was united in marriage to Mildred Kurunsaari on June 8, 1946. He worked for the City of Mt. Pleasant and the Isabella County Road Commission. Gerald was a veteran of World War II and life time member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3039 in Farwell. He is survived by his wife, Mildred, son Phillip Coffell of Florida; two daughters, Bonnie (Phillips) Wentworth of Farwell, and Paige (Stephen) Bragg of Muskegon; three brohers, Bonnie (Lora) Coffell of Muskegon, Owen (Tootie) Coffell of Holton, and Bernard (Judy) Coffell of Weidman; five sisters, Ida Spooner of Alma, Lilas Thornton of Farwell, Lola (Lucius) Riker of Florida, Norma Phelps of Mt. Pleasant and Audrey Gaskill of Farwell. Also 13 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Gerald was preceded in death by brothers, Linus, Gaylord and Carl and a sister, Fern. Funeral services took place Ocober 13, 1998, at the Daggett Funeral Home, Barryton, with burial at Forest Hill Cemetery near Weidman.
