All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/mi/mifiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Janet Wilkinson Schwartz wilkinschw@aol.com April 9, 2016, 10:08 pm Isabella County Enterprise, Mount Pleasant, MI, Friday, October 27, 1905 Amos Drew was born in Orangeville, Cattaraugus [sic] Co., New York, August 22, 1827, and died at the Soldiers Home in Grand Rapids, Michigan, October 16, 1905, aged 78 years, 1 month and 24 days. He was joined in marriage to Hannah A. Drew, June 14, 1853, at Portage, N. Y. To them were born four sons and two daughters. The daughters and one son preceded him to the spirit world. He enlisted as a soldier in the Union army in the winter of 1861 and served his country nearly four years, came to Michigan with his family in 1879 and made a home for himself and family in Union township, Isabella county. He received wounds while a soldier from which he suffered and the last seven years he was helpless most of the time. The wife and three sons are left to mourn his departure. The funeral took place from the Evangelical church at Whiteville Friday afternoon October 20th, interment at Riverside cemetery with Masonic services at the grave. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. D. J. Feather.
