Obituaries from the Clare County Cleaver, Harrison, Mich.

Bernard John Engelman, 78, of Rosebush, passed away at Central Michigan
Community Hospital, Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, on Saturday February 6,
1999.   Bernard was born June 11, 1920, in Au Gres, Michigan, the son of
Conrad and Barbara (Freehling) Engelman.
  Mr. Engelman had resided in Rosebush since 1976, moving from Hazel
Park, Michigan.  He was united in marriage to Margaret Taylor on March
l, 194l in Napoleon, Ohio.  Bernard retired from Chrysler Corporation
after thirty two years of employment.  After his retirement, he enjoyed
gardening and playing cards and was known for his talent in
woodworking.  Bernard was a veteran of World War II, serving with the
United States Army.
  Surviving are his wife, Margaret of Rosebush, three daughters, Judith
E. and husband Dr. Walter Lentz of Watch Hill, Rhode Island, Robin A.
and husband William Anderson of Hazel Park, Michigan and Jane L. and
husband Gregory Clark of Royal Oak, Michigan, one son, Mark B. Engelman
of Rosebush, Michigan, twelve grandchildren, two great-grandchildren,
four nieces and one nephew.  Mr. Engelman was preceded in death by his
parents and four brothers and three sisters.
  Memorial services will be held on Friday, June 11, 1999 at 12:00 p.m.
from Simms Cemetery, Au Gres, Michigan, with members of Mr. Engelman's
family officiating.  Final internment will be in the Simms Cemetery, Au
Gres, Michigan.  Funeral arrangements were entrusted with Stocking
Funeral Home, Harrison.  Memorial contributions may be considered to
Central Michigan Community Hospital of Mt. Pleasant, or the
Clare-Gladwin Intermediate School District.
