He was sleeping up stairs while Mrs. Knowlton was attending a sick child. Mr. Knowlton kissed the child and said "good bye," instead of the usual good night. In the morning de did not come down and build the fires as he had done. Mrs. Knowlton called to him but received no reply. She went up tp his room and found him in bed a corpse, and herself a widow with three children to care for alone. Mr. Knowlton had been complaining some lately that his heart did not feel right and it is thought he died of heart disease. His funeral will occur to-morrow at 1 o'clock and will be attended by the Shepherd lodge I.O.O.F. of which he was a member.
