Gerald Peters July 30, 1932 - September 10, 2003  Gerald Peters, age 71, of 
Mt. Pleasant, passed from this world in peace with the Lord, on Wednesday, 
September 10, 2003 at his home. Funeral services were held on Friday, 
September 12, 2003 at 2:00 P.M. at the Chippewa Indian United Methodist Church 
in Mt. Pleasant with Pastor Marshall Collins officiating. Visitation was on 
Thursday, September 11 at the church with a wake service in the evening. 
Memorial contributions were suggested to a charity of the donors choice. 
Gerald was born in Nottawa Township, Isabella County, Michigan on July 30, 
1932 to Helen Bennett and James H. Peters. Gerald graduated from Mt. Pleasant 
High School in 1952. He then enlisted in the US Army and served in Korea. He 
was honorably discharged as a corporal in 1954. He married Barbara Anne 
Blaisdell on May 1, 1976. He worked in construction for many years and retired 
as a security guard from the Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort. Gerald was a 
member of the Chippewa Indian Tribe, and the Michigan Laborers Union. Gerald 
is survived by his wife, Barbara of Mt. Pleasant; his brother Phillip (Autumn) 
Peters, Sr; his sister, Theresa Falcon, all of Mt. Pleasant; three daughters, 
Cynthia (Patrick) Currie of Flint, Patricia Symons of Alma, and Kay (Art) 
Kievit of Escanaba; grandchildren, Shane (Stacie) McCulley, Margaret (Jamie) 
Massey, Mega (Dan) Sodini, Amanda McCulley, Angie (Rod) Carter, Brian 
McCulley, Charles (Jill) Kievit, Beth (Gerald) Busick, Abby Kievit, William 
Kievet, and Heidi Kievit; great grandchildren, Amanda, Wesley, Brooke, 
Heather, Ashley, Shannon, Dione, Gillian, Allie Rose, Kate, Adrina, and Chloe, 
Laura, Donald, and Jamie, Jr; and many many nieces and nephews who sorely will 
miss their uncle. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Helen 
Peters; sisters Emma Slater, Christine Graveratte, Betsey Hall, and Judy 
Floyd; and brothers, Selkirk and Floyd Peters.
