The submitter has given permission to the MIGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. _____________________________________________________________________ Obituaries from Clare County Review November 28, 1999 Jacob "Jake" Charles Purdey, 24, of Weidman was killed Thursday, Nobember 18, 1999, as a result of a hit and run accident at the corner of Blanchard and Gilmore Roads. Jake was born on August 21, 1975 in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Walter and Eidie (Heng) Purdey. Jake graduated from Chippewa Hills High School in 1994 and worked as a welder for Morbark Industries in Winn. He enjoyed helping others, either working on cars or building houses. Jake is survived by his daughter Shanna Purdey of Mecosta; his parents Walter and Eidie Purdey of Weidman; his brothers, Walter Joseph "Joe" Purdey (Alicia) of Mt. Pleasant, and Jason Shawn Purdey (Roxanne) of Blanchard; aunts and uncles, Buck Shephard (Viola) of Farwell; Deloris Purdey, Veronica Klopp (Bob),Tamyra Tiedman (Gary) all of Clare, Jay Purdey of Flint, John Martin, Stella Hough, both of Barryton; Jim Purdey (Sharon) of Hastings, and nieces and nephews, Kristi, Andi, Kaine, Elisa and Tess Purdey. Jake was preceded in death by his grandparents and a niece, Jazz Purdey. Funeral Services for Jake were held on Monday,November 22, 1999 from the Clark Funeral Chapel with Rev. Marvin Eldridge officiating. Interment was in the Gilmore Township Cemetery in Isabella County. Those wishing to make a memorial contribtion in memory of Jake may consider the Shanna Purdey Fund.
