OBITUARY:  STANLEY A. STEPHENS
        MT. PLEASANT     -- Services will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Stinson
Funeral Home here for Stanley Arthur Stephens, 55, of 124 W. Bellows St.,
who died Thursday in a local hospital after a long illness. Burial will be
in Mt. Rest Cemetery, St. Johns.
        A St. Johns native, Mr. Stephens was a fireman at Central Michigan
University powerhouse. He was a member of Shepardsville Methodist church
and Elsie IOOF lodge.
        He is survived by his wife, Helen; his stepfather, Howard Powers of St.
Johns; and two brothers, Glen of Lansing and Gordon, St. Johns.
