In 1872 he came to Clare county this state, where he resided until in the spring 1880 he then came to Isabella county, Denver township, where he made his home until his death which was on the 28th of March, 1922. He was married in Canada October 30, 1854 to Margaret McMullen and to their union were born ten children of whom seven survive, Stephen, Hugh, John, Allen, Mrs. James Lennox and Samuel and Thomas Hart. The three other children passed away in the earlier days. Besides the children he leaves ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He was laid to rest in Riverside cemetery. Rev.
