OBITUARY William TAYLOR was born in Summit Co, OH 12 Oct 1847. He came with his parents to Branch County when seven years old and remained there until he enlisted in the Civil War in Co H, 1st Michigan Sharpshooters, going immediately to the front where he remained until the close of the war. He was marrried to Nancy COBB in 1867. To them was born one son, Seth TAYLOR, now of Rolland. His wife died in 1870. In 1873 he married Deltha BENNETT and to the union were born 10 children, two dying in infancy, two sons, George and Arthur, dying after they became men. With his family he moved to Isabella County in 1879 and they began pioneer life and have assisted in changing this community from a wilderness into the pleasant community we now enjoy. Mr. TAYLOR died at his son's home near Bronson, where they had gone to pay a visit, on 11 May 1924 at the age of 76y, 7m, 30d. He leaves his companion, 2 daughters, Jennie OBERLIN and Addie MYERS of Belding, 5 sons, Lorenzo and Irvin of Branch County, and Seth, Dexter and Ralph of this place, and many other relatives. He was converted 30 years ago and remained a believer in God's power to save through the afterlife. He was a kind husband and father, an obliging friend and neighbor and in all a good citizen.
