OBITUARY
Jan. 16, 1933 - Sep. 24, 2008

Bonnie Lou Rodgers, 75, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Wednesday, September 
24, 2008 at The Laurels in Mt. Pleasant.

Funeral services for Bonnie will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on 
Tuesday, September 30th at 11 a.m. with Pastor John Obrecht officiating. 
Interment will follow at Green Cemetery in Isabella County. The family will 
receive friends on Monday, September 29th from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Memorial 
contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice or the American Diabetes 
Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Bonnie was born on January 16, 1933 in Isabella County, the daughter of Ray 
and Flossie (Phelps) Thayer. Bonnie was a member of the First Church of the 
Nazarene and the D.A.V. Auxiliary.  She enjoyed playing the piano, organ, and 
accordion, as well as word search puzzles, reading, and visiting with people. 

Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Anissa (Douglas) Koch of Wheeler, MI; step-
daughter, Janice Rodgers of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren: Lynese Billings, 
Amber and Jennifer Hammond, and Christy (Brett) Roof; great-grandchildren: 
Charlotte Billings, Jessica Schaaf, Corina Roof, Gabriel Roof, and Cameron 
Roof; brother, LeRoy (Beverly) Thayer of Midland; and sisters: Clarabelle 
(Harold) Frankie of Shepherd, Phyllis Brown of Midland, and Arla Joy Mason of 
Texas.  

Bonnie was preceded in death by both of her husbands: Allen Cornell in 1965 
and Lynn Rodgers in 2002; brother, Lloyd Thayer; and sisters: Ila Mae Devoll 
and Doris Lauer.


Additional Comments:
Obituary notice says Bonnie is the daughter of Ray and Flossie (Phelps) 
Thayer.  It should actually read Roy and Flossie (Phelps) Thayer.
