DIED AUG 19, 1886 AGED 2YRS 3 MO'S & 10 DY'S Note: Emanias Stahl was the son of Michael and Nancy (Burkholder) Stahl, born August 10, 1846 in Navarre, Bethlehem Twp., Stark Co., Ohio and passed away January 5, 1924 Saint Louis, Gratiot Co., MI. He entered the civil war at the age of 15 inducted first into the 61st Regiment Company E on February 5, 1862 in Navarre, Stark Co., Ohio and re-enlisted 82 Regiment, Company E in Bridgeport, Alabama He was officially discharged on February 24, 1865 in Louisville, KY. Census records for 1850 and 1860 show his first name as Andrew. After the civil war and returning home, his mother and siblings moved to Kosiusko Co., IN where he met and married Sarah Emily Abbott on April 1, 1869, some records show June 20, 1869. Their two first born sons, VanDoren and Kelly Stahl were born in Kosciusko Co., IN. Shortly after the birth of Kelly Stahl, they came to Shepherd, Isbella Co, MI by ox cart and settled some land for farming in Coe Township, Isabella Co., MI. This is where the rest of their children were born, Eldon Abbott Stahl, Elma Lozena Stahl, Lola Belle Stahl, Zetta Ledott Stahl, and Zella Antona Stahl. Emanias parents both were from PA and after leaving there, settled in Navarre, Bethlehem Twp., Stark Co., OH. They had 9 boys and one girls according to census records. Not much known about Emanias's father. It is speculated that he passed away in Ohio sometime around 1855. It is not known where he died for sure or buried. His mother, Nancy Stahl is buried in a cemetery in Kosciusko Co., IN. Sarah Emily "Emma" Stahl was the daughter of Samuel Abbott and Elma A. McCourtney. She was born June 17, 1851 in Kosciusko Co., IN and passed away June 1, 1949 in Saint Louis, Gratiot Co., MI. Zetta Ledott (Stahl) Smock-Huber was born February 26, 1888 in Coe Township, Isabella Co., MI and passed away July 17, 1940 in Saint Louis, Gratiot Co., MI at the age of 54 years 4 months and 21 days, cause of death cerebral hemmorhage. Burial was on July 21 1940 in Coe Cemetery, Isabella Co., MI. She married Harry Smock and they had one child. They divorced and she married William Huber. Not much known about him. They divorced as well according to her death certificate. Kelly Stahl and Lola Belle (Stahl) Martin are buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, Saint Louis, MI. Daughter, Elma Lozena (Stahl) Vibber is buried in a cemetery in Zephyrhills, FL.
