Pleasant MI passed away on Saturday, at Woodland Hospice in Mt. Pleasant MI surrounded by his loving family. Jim was born the son of Roy and Mamie (Schlafley) Joslin. On July 10, 1954 in Clare, he married Nina Rose Mickle. Jim was a resident of Mt. Pleasant since 1951, living previously in the Clare and Farwell area. He was a graduate of Clare High School. A plumber by trade, he was co-owner of Mid-State Plumbing and Heating for fifty years. He was a member of Local 85 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union, the American Legion Post 110, and the Wabon Masonic Lodge #305, also a member of the Vacation Wonderland Shriner, and a volunteer fireman. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving in Africa. Jim was a loyal supporter of the University of Michigan football program, and was a die hard fan of the Detroit Lions. He spent many years of enjoyment at his deer camp at Rattail Lake. He enjoyed golfing and many many pool parties. Survivors include his children, Greg (Cheryl Williams) Joslin of Shepherd MI, Bill (Joyce Gray) Joslin, Nonie (Jim) Huber, both of Mt. Pleasant MI, a sister- in-law, Jan Joslin of Mt. Pleasant MI, eleven grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Nina Rose Joslin, parents Roy and Mamie (Schlafley) Joslin, and four brothers, Rex, Neal, Leo, and Dale Joslin. A service celebrating Jim's life was held on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 in the Helms Chapel of the Rowley Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Jim's memory have been suggested to Woodland Hospice in appreciation of the loving care they gave him.
