McIntyre, age 7l, of Jackson, formerly of Detroit, passed away October 9, 200l at Foote Memorial Hospital in Jackson, MI. He was born on September 27, 1930 in Detroit, the son of Duncan and Rosa (Rice) McIntyre. Douglas served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, worked as a ramp service man for United Airlines. He enjoyed boating, playing Santa Claus, kite flying, and camping. Douglas is survived by his two children: Mary Lou (Sean) McIntyre-Merlino of Westland and Charles McIntyre of Clare; one sister: Joan (Ron) Young of Oscoda; and one brother: John McIntyre of Warren. He was preceded in death by one son Douglas G. McIntyre II; two brothers: Glenn and Jim McIntyre; and one sister: Verna Jearls. Funeral services were held on Friday, Octobner 12, 200l at the Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home in Chelsea with Pastor Robert D. Brenner of the Faith United Methodist Church officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross. Memorial contributions may be given to a charity of one's choice, envelopes will be available at the funeral home where family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday.
