ShellG7149203@att.net September 5, 2010, 10:41 am Jackson Citizen Patroit * Thursday, February 4, 2010 Mitchell, Marshall Clarence-- Age 88, Of Ackerson Lake, passed away at the V.A. Medical Center in Ann Arbor on Tuesday, February 2, 2010. Marshall was born on February 28,1921, the only child of Muriel and Pierce Mitchell. He was a 1939 graduate of Jackson High School and then served in World War II as a Navy Flight Instructor at Pensacola, Florida; while there, he married a Navy Wave in 1945, the former Edna Lucille Shelley. Upon returning to Michigan, he graduated from the University of Michigan. He was preceded in death by Edna on August 18,2009; and a son, James Douglas Mitchell in 1949. Marshall is survived by three sons, John and Tom of Ackerson Lake, and Mark of Howell, MI; three daughters, Patty Blakely and her husband, Mike of Michigan Center, Marsha Omans and her husband Darrell of Lakeville, IN, and Shelley Golombek and her husband, Joe of Vandercook Lake;eight grandchildren, Wyatt, Warren, Amy,Kelly, Brian, Matthew, Ben, and Marshall; and five great-grandchildren, Cierra, Erin, Rylee, Grace, and Caleb.
