Maria Duckham
b. 1851  /  d.1911

Additional Comments:
Maria Duckham was believed to have been born, Maria Stanfield, in England. At
least three different birth years have been found on this person.  The headstone
clearly indicates that she was born in 1851.  However, on a recently found death
certificate it clearly indicates that she was born on 4 Jan 1845.  Yet, there is
a third reference indicating a date of birth as being Dec 1853.  I have to
believe the death certificate as being correct as Maria's son Frank was listed
as the informant on the Certificate of Death. [It would be taken for granted
that a son would know his mother's Birthdate.]  Maria was the wife of John
Duckham and they married sometime in England prior to their immigration to
America.  It is known that Maria immigrated to America, after her husband,
sometime after their son Frank became a year old.  Frank's first birthday was in
May of 1872.  Logic would indicate that immigration to this country probably
occurred during the summer of 1872.  No records have yet been found to
substantiate that postulation.  The Certificate of Death indicates that Maria
Duckham died at the age of 66 years/3 Months/2 Days succumbing to chronic
interstitial nephritis (Kidney failure).

Maria Duckham was my Maternal Great Great Grandmother.
