Evans 1835-1916 Johanna O'Donell and her family emigrated from Ireland in 1837. They arrived in the U.S. in 1840 after briefly settling in New Brunswick, Canada. By 1843, the family had settled down in Detroit, Michigan. Her parents are buried at Mt. Elliot Cemetery in Detroit. By 1856, Johanna had married William Garred and had a son while living in Iowa. He must have died and she eventually met William Evans who she married on May 1, 1856 in Jackson, Michigan. She is buried near her husband at Chapel Cemetery who is buried with his first wife.
