Joe Started out as a farmer but then worked for Clark Equipment Company of 
Jackson as a Grinder. He was retired from there
He was an ordained deacon and also worked on the side as a mason and carpenter
They were married July 19, 1935  Leland,Leelanau Co. Michiga
they had 5 children
