The Waterloo [IA] Daily Courier, Nov 24, 1900 1900
Iron Mountain, Mich., Nov. 24.-C. F. Nesbitt, of Schoolcraft, Mich., was shot 
while hunting in the woods near Channing, Mich., Wednesday evening by 
Conductor Macey, of the Milwaukee road, who mistook him for a deer. He was 
brought to this city and now lies at St. George hospital in a critical 
condition. The shot him in his stomach and grazed the left ribs.
