Marion I. Arcan 

Marion I. "Granny" Arcan, 98, of Cape Haze, Fla. and formerly of Comstock, 
Allegan, Kalamazoo & Pine Lake, Barry Co. Mich. passed away Friday, July 24, 
2009 in the comfort of her home. 

She was born January 12, 1911 in Kalamazoo, Mich. to Alfred Ford Phillips and 
Edna Dutton. Marion graduated from Allegan High School, class of 1928. 

Marion was the founder of Arcan's Inc. in Plainwell, Mich. along with her 
husband, Henry S. Arcan. She retired to Florida along with Henry in 1967 where 
she resided in Cape Haze until her passing. Marion learned the computer at age 
90 and enjoyed being on the internet. She also liked to fish and enjoyed golf, 
bowling and cribbage, which she taught to each of her grandchildren. Playing 
solitaire and watching the boats travel the intercoastal was also a favorite 
past time of hers. "Granny" will be greatly missed by all those who knew her. 

She leaves behind a son, five grandchildren,and three great-grandchildren. She 
was preceded in death by her husband, Henry S. Arcan, daughter, Melinda L. 
Stout and her two brothers Alfred L. and Donald D. Phillips.


Additional Comments:
Marion Arcan was the oldest of three siblings, my father Donald D. Phillips 
being her youngest brother.
