Blood, a life member of Kalamazoo lodge No. 22, F. and A. M., died Saturday morning in Petoskey at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Laura Calkins. Mr. Blood was 89 years and 6 months of age. He was born in Dunstable, Vt., in 1826, and spent his early business life in Boston. He married Miss Sussan Ellis of Walton, Vt., October 24, 1850. In 1861 they came to Kalamazoo. In 1876 Mr. Blood moved with his family to Petoskey, where he acquired large milling interests. For two years Mr. Blood had resided with his sons in this city, going to Petoskey last spring to spend the summer with his daughter. He is survived by the following children: Maurice E. and Clarence C. Blood of Boston, Mrs. Laura A. Calkins of Petoskey, and Mrs. Lonie Winifred Wilson of New York city. The funeral and burial were held Monday in Petoskey.
