August 3, 1946, page 8 E.A. Byington Dies at Borgess Had Lived Here 45 years Eugene A. Byington, 66, a resident here for 45 years, died last evening at Borgess hospital after an illness of two days. A heart ailment was given as the cause of death. Mr. Byington lived at the Columbia hotel where he had been a maintenance employe for the last 14 years. Born 1880 in Galesburg, he was the son of Thomas Dorr and Minnie Byington. He was a member of St. Augustine church and the Holy Name Society. Mrs. Rose J. Byington, his wife, died May 1, of this year. Survivors are four daughters and one son, Mrs. Gertrude Sage, Mrs, Dorothy DeLoof, Mrs. Eugenia Keelan, Francis J. Byington, all of Kalamazoo, and Mrs. Elona McWethy, Lansing; a brother and three sisters, Harry Byington, Mrs. P.J. Redmond, Mrs. Lyle Moreland, all of Kalamazoo, and Mrs. Frank B. Drolet, Niles, and 13 grandchildren. One son, John T. Byington, was killed in action in the war two years ago.
