Mrs. Eugene Byington Dies of Heart Ailment Rose Julia Adams Byington, 66, Columbia hotel, wife of Eugene Byington, died Wednesday in Borgess Hospital where she had been ill for five weeks with a heart ailment. She was born March 31, 1880, in Richland and had been a lifelong resident here. Mrs. Byington was a member of St. Augustine church and the Workers of Mary society. Besides her husband she leaves four daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Sage, Mrs. Dorothy DeLoof, Mrs. Eugenia Keelan, all of Kalamazoo, and Mrs. Elnora McWethy, Lansing; and one son, Francis Byington, Kalamazoo; one sister, Mrs. Agnes Shane, and one brother, Carl Adams, both of Kalamazoo; a half-sister and half-brother, Margaret Adams, Kalamazoo, and Bernard Adams, Schoolcraft; 13 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. One son, John Byington, was killed in service in France in July, 1944.
