FORMER OWNER OF RICHLAND DRUG STORE DIES AT 84

RICHLAND-A funeral mass is scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday at the St. Ann
Catholic Church for Mrs. Marie Helen Drolet, who owned and operated a drug store
here for a quarter of a century.
	Mrs. Drolet, 84, died Monday at the Beverly Manor Convalescent Center near
Plainwell.  She and her husband, Louis, lived for many years at 300 Allendale
Beach, Augusta.
	A native of Chicago, she was raised in Gobles and graduated from Borgess
Medical Center's school of nursing in 1917.  The family ran Drolet's Drug Store
from 1926 until his death in 1951.
	For many years, the Drolets used to set up a huge, intricate village Christmas
scene in the Gull Lake area home, a display that was featured several times in
newspapers.
	Survivors include a son; a daughter; and five grandchildren.
	The Truesdale-Farley Colonial Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements and
burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Additional Comments:
Husband Louis M. Drolet, died at Richland, March 8, 1951, Donald Drolet died
Mesa, Arizona March 16, 2002, Marie Louise Drolet died August 20, 1989 in
Kalamazoo.  After the death of Louis Drolet, the store in Richland was operated
by nephew Dan Drolet until the early 1960s.
