LUCY HENRETTA HARDY-BREWSTER-ROOT'S obituary, published in the Kalamazoo 
Gazette, Kalamazoo, MI, April 9, 1892.

Mrs. J. L. (Justus Lyons) ROOT of Oshtemo Twp. died at 3 o'clock Tuesday 
morning at her late home.  She was born October 23, 1811 in Cheshire Twp. in 
New Hampshire and has lived in Oshtemo Twp. for about 33 years.  She has 
been in poor health for the past years and has been confined to her bed 
since 2 years ago last month.  She leaves a husband and a son and daughter.  
Mr. Clark BREWSTER of Otsego and Mrs. Joseph KINGSBURY living at Milton 
Junction.  She also leaves 7 step-children and a sister, Mrs. Russell LAWTON 
of Wellsborough, PA who is expected Wednesday for a visit.  She not knowing 
of her sisters death.  
The funeral will occur a 1 o'clock from her home this afternoon and 
interment in Liberty St. Cemetery in Alamo Twp.
