B, pg 4, col 3 and St. Petersburg Times (FL) - December 3, 2004 Obituary, Kalamazoo Gazette, 12-6-2004, sect. B, pg 4, col 3: "MANNION, MRS. SADIE C., ST PETERSBURG, FL FORMERLY OF KALAMAZOO. Passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2004, at St. Petersburg General Hospital. Sadie was born in Kalamazoo, January 4, 1898 the daughter of George & Cora (Wilkerson) Phillips. She was a member of BPOE Lodge #50, the Ladies of the Moose, and was an avid golfer, bowler and bridge player. She was an accomplished pianist and accordionist and owned the Mana Mannion Music Studio in Kalamazoo for many years, having taught local students piano and accordion. On June 10, 1916, she married Godfrey "Fritz" Mannion, who preceded her in death on June 12, 1963, after which she moved to St. Petersburg. Surviving are two daughters, five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held 11 o'clock Friday morning at Riverside Cemetery with Rev. James Dyke officiating...." She came here in 1963 from her native Kalamazoo, Mich. She was a homemaker and a member of the Elks Lodge 50 and the Ladies of the Moose, both in Kalamazoo. She was an avid golfer, bowler and bridge player. Survivors include two daughters, Betty Leversee, St. Petersburg, and Dorothy Gettings; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three great- great-grandchildren. David C.
