Slye, 81, former Ionia resident, died Sunday evening, January 27, at Golden Age Nursing Home at Vicksburg, after a long illness. He has been living at 340 North Cedar Street, Schoolcraft. He was a former deputy revenue collector for southern Michigan and associated with the Michigan state tax commission. Before his retirement he operated an investment firm in Kalamazoo and was manager of the Michigan Employment service office there. He was a member of the Schoolcraft Presbyterian Church and Masonic Lodge. He was born in Hillier township, Ontario Canada, June 22, 1875 and married Lilly Minier, of Palo March 27, 1895. Besides the widow, he is survived by two sons, Ronald of Jacksonville, Fla., and Lyle of Charlotte, N.C.; two daughters, Mrs. Max Pugsley of Dowagiac and Miss Bertha Slye at home; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at Truesdale Funeral Home, Kalamazoo, Wednesday, at 11:00 o'clock. The Rev. Franklin Ogie of Edwardsburg officiated.
