His wife, Mrs. Henrietta Tidd, was the former Miss Henrietta Lucker, St. Joseph. They both were regular visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Stanley, Route 2, the latter a sister of Mrs. Tidd's. Tidd, employed by the Michigan Bell Telephone company in Kalamazoo was returning to the office when the train crashed into his car. His body was hurled 100 feet. It is claimed that tank cars obstructed his view of the tracks. He is survived by his widow, a son, John Tidd, Jr., who is a student at Western State Teachers College, and by his mother, and his sister Miss Pearl Tidd, who live next door to his residence at 140 W.
