The vandals toppled or smashed many tombstones including those of Civil War veterans and very fragile, older stones. Most pathetic were smashed small tombstones of children - sometimes hurled against trees. Pavilion Township hired a contractor to survey and repair the cemeteries. I don't know what they were able to do about some tombstones than crumbled to a powder like state.
